People with epilepsy have been stigmatized and misunderstood, this is
changing because…
There is a group of Epilepsy Advocates, dedicated to share their experience and
increase the public’s awareness of epilepsy. Every year, 30 seminars are held
around Taiwan and more than 3,000 people gain more knowledge about epilepsy.
Since 1992, the general public has better insight regarding epilepsy, this is
reflected in the 2012 survey results; 87% interviewees believe people with
epilepsy could perform equally well at their roles and those against marriage
with people with epilepsy have decreased to 49%.
Understanding, support and encouragement are what everyone, including people
with epilepsy, wish and treasure for. We hope this video can help to end
misconceptions and start a new chapter filled with confidence and happiness in
many people’s book of life.
